I'm William Mattey, a multidisciplinary designer with over 10 years across web design, branding and animation. I've designed and launched more than 50 brands, websites and digital interfaces, working end-to-end from narrative and identity to UI, motion and build.

Over the last decade, I've worked as a product designer and builder across agencies, startups and my own products — taking ideas from early problem framing through to live, shipped software. I work at the intersection of product strategy, design and implementation, and I'm most comfortable owning the whole loop rather than a single phase.

I've designed and built products, design systems and launch-ready interfaces for tools like KompiPay, Soissons Belles, BatchRenameLite, Kompi.app, Jimbo, Hikari and Findaly, as well as collaborating within larger product organisations such as Criteo. My work spans UX, UI, brand systems and front-end execution, always with real users and constraints in mind.

What I enjoy most is working closely with founders and product leaders to turn ambiguous problems into clear, usable products — shaping the narrative, designing the experience, and helping ship things that actually get used.

How I like to work

Design the whole system, not just the screen

From the first brief to the final hand-off, I think in terms of journeys, touchpoints and stories, not isolated pages.

Brand and product should feel inseparable

Logos, interfaces, motion and copy are all facets of one idea. The best work feels unmistakably like the same voice everywhere.

Ship, learn, then refine

I prefer momentum over perfection. Clear hypotheses, small bets and thoughtful iteration keep teams aligned and moving.

Make it clear, then make it delightful

Clarity is the baseline. Once people understand where they are and what they can do, there’s room for personality and surprise.
